How to Edit a Course Cover Page

Overview

The course cover image plays a crucial role as the first page that learners see. You have the flexibility to personalise it based on your preferences to elevate the overall quality of your course.

Step Tutorial

1. Click the 'View Course List' button.

2. Locate the course you wish to modify. You may search for a course title or author using the search function or browse through categories.

3. In this tutorial, we'll be using the 'Nighttime Survival in the Jungle' course as an example. Click on the 'pencil' icon to proceed with editing.

4. You'll be directed to the course editor page. Ensure that the 'Cover Page' is selected. Proceed to click the ‘cogwheel’ icon to start editing.

5. The 'Cover Page Settings' editor will pop up. Update the areas you want to change.

The following are the items that you can customise:

A. Cover Image
i. Click on the 'upload' icon to upload an image.

ii. Click 'Upload Image' and choose your new cover image.

NOTE: You may refer to the tutorial on How to Edit a Course > Step Tutorial for Editing the Content > Tool Blocks > B. Image > Image Addition to learn more about uploading an image.

iii. Drag the points to adjust, and click 'Done' once you are satisfied with the adjustment.

iv. Additionally, if you only want to crop your cover image, click the 'crop' icon.

v. Drag the points to adjust, and click 'Done' once you are satisfied with the adjustment.

B. Theme Style
Click the 'left' and 'right' buttons to browse theme styles. Click on your preferred theme style and make sure the radio button is selected.

C. Title Font Style
Click the 'drop-down' icon to access all available fonts. Input your preferred font size and choose your desired font colour.

D. Background
i. Click the 'drop-down' icon to select your preference: a background image or a background colour. Click on the 'upload' icon to upload an image.

ii. Click 'Upload Image' and choose your new background image.

iii. Drag the points to adjust, and click 'Done' once you are satisfied with the adjustment.

iv. Additionally, if you only want to crop your background image, click the 'crop' icon.

v. Drag the points to adjust, and click 'Done' once you are satisfied with the adjustment.

vi. Lastly, if you have selected the 'Colour Only' option, click the text field and choose your new background colour by either using the slider then selecting your desired colour from the colour palette, entering the new hex code, or using the colour picker.

E. Start Course Button
To customise the 'Start Course' button, choose your preferred text colour, start colour, and end colour. A preview of the button will be displayed on the right side of the button settings.

NOTE: Fields marked with an asterisk (*) are required.

6. After you have finished setting up your preferred settings, click 'Save'.

NOTE: To discard the changes, click 'Cancel'.
