STEP 2 - COURSE CONTEXT
e. Breadth and Depth *
Specify the extent to which a topic or subject is covered in your course by choosing from the following options: Overview, Focused, Standard, or Comprehensive.
- Overview — Covers only essential subject matter required to provide learners with a foundational understanding of the subject matter. Overview is perfect for introductory, quick onboarding, informative or refresher courses.
- Focused — Creates a concise yet complete coverage of course subject matter. Concentrates on all critical aspects of the course content. Addresses key points with minimal elaboration, using brief examples to illustrate key points. Streamlined to deliver relevant information in a more concise format. This level is ideal for courses with limited depth yet still provide good coverage of the subject matter.
- Standard — Provides thorough coverage of the course subject matter. Standard focuses on delivering essential theories, principles, and concepts. It includes some practical examples and case studies, with less depth compared to Comprehensive level. Ensures a solid understanding of the fundamental topics, making it suitable for learners who need a strong foundational grasp of the subject matter.
- Comprehensive — Delivers an in-depth coverage of the entire scope of the course subject matter. Designed to provide a thorough and detailed understanding of all aspects of the subject matter. Comprehensive employs a wide range of teaching methods, including extensive case studies, practical examples, and sample materials to embed knowledge and deepen the understanding of the learning material. This level is ideal for learners seeking a complete and thorough grasp of the topic, encompassing both theoretical knowledge and practical application.
f. Reading Level *
Specify the level of your course readability from 'Very Easy' to 'Difficult'. To ensure the appropriate readability level, it's crucial to consider your target audience or participants.
Reading Level Reading Age Description Very Easy 5–6 Very easy to read. Easily understood by an average student aged 5–6. Easy 7–8 Easy to read. Easily understood by an average student aged 7–8. Fairly Easy 9–11 Fairly easy to read. Easily understood by an average student aged 9–11. Standard 12–14 Plain English. Easily understood by an average student aged 12–14. Fairly Difficult 15–18 Fairly difficult to read. Difficult 18+ Difficult to read. Best understood by university graduates.g. Language *
Select the course output language to ensure eBot writes your course in the language you have selected. By default, this field is automatically set based on your selection from the checkout page.h. Tone of Voice *
Use tone of voice to align your content to your learner audience and course subject matter. Please be aware that tone of voice, like funny and dramatic, can be quite funny and dramatic, so it may only be suitable for certain audiences.i. Country *
Select a country to ensure that eBot writes your course content relevant to your selected country context. This will ensure things like content, case studies, scenarios and practical examples will be developed specifically using your selected country context. By default, this field is automatically set based on your selection from the checkout page.j. Other Context Considerations
Add any additional contextual information to ensure eBot creates course content your relevant to learners and context.Add important contextual information such as:
- Cultural, social, economic, political considerations
- Legal, regulatory and environmental considerations
- Industry context
- Local, State or Regional contexts
- This contextual information will be used in development of your course to create relevant content, practical examples and case studies etc.
STEP 3 - COURSE SETTINGS
k. Category
Enter the appropriate category for your course or select from the options that will appear when you click on the textbox. Categories help organise your courses.NOTE: You are only allowed to select one category per course. If you enter a new category here, the new category will also be added to the system for future use.
l. Topic Navigation *
Select whether you prefer the navigation to be free or linear.
- Free — Selecting Free navigation will allow your students to freely navigate their eLearning course without having to follow a linear progression.
- Linear — Selecting Linear navigation will require your learners to progress through their topics and subtopics as they appear in the course outline. They will be unable to jump ahead.
m. Learning Objectives
Switch on to include learning objectives in the content creation process upon clicking 'Quick Generate Content via AI' in Step 4. If switched off, learning objectives will not be included in the content creation process.
NOTE:
- When a course is initially created using AI with Learning Objectives enabled, the learning objectives will be collected and will be displayed in a dedicated 'Learning Objectives' topic within the Course Builder page.
- This section will use accordions to display learning objectives for each topic.
- AI-generated learning objectives will include a title (serving as the accordion item) and a description (serving as the content inside the accordion).
- When the user edits a course and changes the learning objectives setting:
- Switching from 'ON' to 'OFF': Upon regenerating content, learning objectives will no longer be generated and will be removed from course topics.
- Switching from 'OFF' to 'ON': Upon regenerating content, learning objectives will be generated and included.
- When the user chooses to regenerate content via AI, the learning objectives will also be regenerated, replacing any previous learning objectives.
n. Case Studies
Enable this option to include case studies in your course topics and subtopics to help learners apply theoretical concepts to real-world situations.o. Theme Style *
Select the look and feel for your course from our beautiful course themes. Select the colours and design that best aligns with your course content and audience. Your course will be created in an interactive eLearning format based on the theme selected. You can also change your course theme at any time after creating your course.NOTE: Don’t worry about the picture you see on the cover page as this can be changed in your cover page settings.
STEP 4 - QUIZ SETTINGS
p. Quiz Format
Select the quiz question type/s you would like to be included at the end of each topic and subtopic. Select 'No Quiz' if you don’t want quiz questions included in your course.NOTE: You can select both 'True Or False' and 'Single/Multiple Choice Questions', or just have one or the other.
q. Maximum Number of Quiz Questions for Each Topic and Subtopic
Set the maximum number of quiz questions to limit the number of questions at the end of every topic and subtopic to the number selected or let eBot decide.NOTE: Use a higher number of questions for more comprehensive courses where you want to ensure learners have a thorough understanding of the subject matter. Alternatively, use a lower number where assessing understanding is less critical.r. Quiz Question Navigation Type
Set the progression requirement for your quizzes between the following options:
- Require Correct Answer to Progress to Next Question — Learners will not be able to progress in their quiz until they select the correct response.
- Allow Progress on Wrong Answer — Learners will be able to progress through their quiz with an incorrect answer to a quiz question.
- Require Quiz Attempt for Course Completion — If you choose to toggle this on for your course, the course completion percentage in the 'Course Preview' will not reach 100% unless all quiz questions included in the course have been attempted.
NOTE: This option will be available if the 'Topic Navigation' in 'STEP 3' is set to 'Free' and a quiz is included in the course. This toggle will be set to on by default.
s. Course Outline
Start working on your course structure by adding in your topics and subtopics. You can choose whether to create your outline manually or quickly generate it via AI (preferred).NOTE:
- If you choose to create your course outline manually, eBot will save your course and direct you to the outline creation screen where you can add your topics and subtopics. Alternatively, if you opt for AI, it will take approximately 40–60 seconds to generate the topics and subtopics for your course. Once the AI-generated topics and subtopics appear in the outline creation screen, you can add or edit them according to your preference.
- An error message will be displayed when the course outline generation fails due to the uploaded file/s exceeding the allotted context token limit. This can happen if the document is in a different language that the system cannot process or if it is a scanned document (image) that the system cannot read. Please upload a text-based document in a supported language for successful processing.
Upon clicking the 'OK' button, you will be redirected to Course Settings > 'STEP 1 - COURSE DETAILS', allowing you to update the file/s.
NOTE: Content generation via AI takes approximately 15–20 minutes. Please refrain from reloading the page while eBot is working on generating your content.
Editing the course settings after course generation will not regenerate the content of your course. However, it is useful for changing things such as the theme, course navigation, quiz navigation settings, etc.
